LBD Decorative Trashcan Program

The Locust Business District has implemented a decorative trashcan program. The program is intended to help meet the LBD Board's goal of beautifying the neighborhood. The trashcans are decorative and should help visually unify the district. They also should help reduce the amount of litter on the streets by providing an appropriate receptacle for trash. To sponsor a trashcan, a business owner only needs to sign a contract agreeing to empty the can on a regular basis. The LBD will pay to purchase the can and have it installed adjacent to the business. The LBD will purchase and install trashcans as budgeted funds allow. Several trashcans have already been installed along Locust and Olive. Look for more to be installed soon--the LBD hopes to install a total of 30 cans in 2007.
